Our story begins in the 1930s at the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts, where owner Ruth Wakefield would delight guests with delicious home-cooked meals and fresh-baked treats. One day, Ruth cut a bar of NESTLЀ® Semi-Sweet Chocolate into bits and added them to her cookie dough.
